Special Needs Camps in New Jersey include day camps, sleepaway camps, summer programs and summer programs for after ESY. ESY stands for Extended School Year and typically runs for 4 weeks in July during regular school hours. Many families struggle with options for their child during the months of June and August. There are many programs available during those months.
You will find numerous summer programs on NeedQuest. Many of these programs offer activities for children with disabilities including sports for special needs, art and crafts for special needs, drama for special needs, swimming programs for special needs children (including adaptive swimming) and more.
There are also sleepaway camps for children with special needs throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York that serve the autism, cerebral palsy and down's syndrome community. These accredited camps have counselors who are highly trained to serve children with special needs along with programs and activities that are custom created for the type of disabilities they serve.
