Music therapy is a professional practice in which music is used as a tool to improve functional life skills. The So.i.Heard Music Therapy program has helped clients to address many functional goals, including managing behavior, enhancing communication, improving social skills, building healthy coping strategies, and encouraging self expression.
Music therapy is an accessible experience that requires no previous musical knowledge. Our music therapists can tailor goals for individuals with special needs, such as autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, anxiety, and auditory processing disorders, but music therapy can also function as a creative outlet and coping mechanism for people without any specific diagnosis.
So.i.Heard music therapists are board certified and additionally trained in the medium of Neurologic Music Therapy, a system of utilizing brain science research to inform interventions, which is endorsed by the World Federation of Neurologic Rehabilitation.
