Nancy Arvizzigno Licensed Professional Counselor
Families with a child on the Autism Spectrum face many challenges. I have over 20 years of experience working with families, including parents and siblings. Parents can benefit from connected with other families who “get it” and who “walk in their shoes”. This is one of the benefits of participating in a therapeutic support group. The information parents gain from the internet is useful but the personal connections made within a support group, the the processing of feelings within a safe place with people who experience similar feelings is not possible on line. Therapeutic parents support group forming now. There with be fee for service. Siblings can benefit from a support group with other kids who "get it". Groups beginning now. SERVICES PROVIDED: Therapy for Depression and Anxiety Therapy for Parents with a Child on the Autism Spectrum or other Developmental Disability Therapy for Siblings of a Child with Autism or other Developmental Disability, Sibling Support Groups Parenting Support/ Education Grief Counseling Work and Career issues Girls' & Women's Wellness Stress Management Improving Relationships Self-Esteem Issues Home-based counseling if needed
Compassionate & Professional
I met Nancy over 20 years ago when she was the Facilitator for the Union County Support Group for parents of children of Autism. Always a great listener, she managed to connect with the parents, whether it was a new family who just learned their child was diagnosed with autism, or one of the regulars looking for an ear or advice on dealing with issues as their child navigated the school system. She was always a good resource in looking for activities and other professionals for our kids.
